I dont wanna be a party pooper, but there is a Petco By me In Mentor, Ohio and i dont have a bad thing to say about them. There tanks usually look pretty good, fish are healthy and i've bought a few different fish from them. Guess im just lucky. There staff in the fish dept, Who i know most of are decent when it comes to knowledge. There no experts, but Ive had great success!

I don't have much luck with Petco and don't really like the place due to their tanks 9 times out of 10 are empty or they have dead fish!!
Their staff isn't to knowledgeable either, though I think I am knowledgeable enough not to need their help, however, when they try talking to me, they must think I don't know much and what they tell me is rather far from the truth!!!
Also, I wait for ever for someone to help me to get fish when the time arises!!! The only thing good about them is if they do have some fish, many times they are cheaper than other pet shops in the area!!

Oh, by the way, can we get some knowledgeable people here at 3reef to get atleast a part-time job to help straighten Petco out and be able to offer future and new reefers a lending hand and to get them out of the starting gate towards success and enjoyment in the saltwater hobby!!!!
Also, I would like to check on my tanks cycling so I will be right back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nope, still not cycled through yet!!! Man it has been like a day now and it still hasn't cycled yet!!!
    Hahahha

We have numerous Petco's in St. Louis. One is Excellent in terms of fish care for both fresh and marine but the assistant manager has a bunch of both tanks at home too. The rest, well.....:(

I have a good friend from New York who has a part time job at a Petco. He sells tons of marine fish that are in good condition and he's smart as a whip. Luckily, the managers saw what they had in a part-time employee and gave him full reign. Most managers would be too arrogant to do this IMO. Overall, as an organization, I would give them an F. However, there's a number of A stores mixed in there too.

Well, I looked into contacting PETA, and figured that wouldnt do much good, cause they have obviously been contacted before about similar situations and it still goes on. I am taking this a step further. I contacted the local Humane Society in hopes of them doing something about this. With my luck, after all my complaining yesterday, their tanks probaly look pristine now, and they probaly removed the fish etc they look near death so when somebody from the Humane Society goes there, they will think I am crazy.

I told them animal cruelty is animal cruelty, whether is a dog, cat or even a fish. You would let a dog or cat keep on living when you know for a FACT it has some sort parasites FEASTING on it. They agreed with me.

I may go back there this morning to check things out again just to see if their "expert" took care of things....

well i was a full timer and i know a decent amount about fish and the sad thing is i feel they are just like every other corp. out there. everytime i tried to get help for the fish, i was rejected. they once told me that the fish should be sold before they had a chance to die, and that if they didnt i wasnt doing my job. they would fix the skimmer, so took it as my duty to "magiever" it. worked for about a month untill someone else felt they could do it better, but didnt. needless to say, more fish died.

that was the least of it. a fist sight almost insude because of one of these situations, and i was not the aggressor. but my smart mouth was.

    on that note
    Deathco, where the pay bl**s.
    and animals go to die.
