Nerite snails are notorious for doing this as they are a tidal snail that doesn best when it can be totally isolated from the water for awhile. They end up dying if this is not offered to them periodically!

Hrmm Interesting. I wonder if I can get enough snails to climb out of my tank and clean my living room...

I have a bunch of margarita snails. A few got eaten by hermit crabs, and the rest occasionally leave water but always crawl in again. They do a good job cleaning though.

A few of my snails have explored above the waterline. It really worries my son (nine years old). He is very good about getting them back in the water.

Wow that is a good idea. Maybe I'll just leave it alone next time!
