Cooling fans I have not tried that yet, if it makes that big of a difference in tank temp I will try that first and see where it goes. As for DIY LED I thought about it but not knowing enough about it I am a little skeptical about trying it. I have been shocked pretty bad before I don’t want to reenact that one again lol

Right now I have a mixture, SP, LPS and SPS and a clam. I was just looking at some DIY video on LED and it doesn’t look to hard.

Has anyone tried doing a DIY LED yet?

There are lots of threads on here about DIY LED, do a search for boost or rapid under lighting and you will find all you need to know and then some. The cooling fan does not have to be anything expensive either, I have a clip on fan over my fuge on my 55 gallon that was $5 at the dollar store! Of course, if you want to invest on the tunze aqua wing complete with LED's go right ahead, but it is not necessary! 29 gallon is a very popular size to have DIY led's on for some reason, lots of biocubes as well as "standard" 29 gallons.

If you are leary of DIY, you can have them built. Check out SaltCritters Live Coral and More. Are You Salty? they will build you LED's for your specific needs, they are great to deal with, have reasonable prices and super fast with shipping. I have not tried their DIY LED's yet, but I have considered it for the price. Good luck! Keeping a reef tank cooled in the summer can be a real challenge!
