Most of the avid DIY led people are going to recommend Cree leds over those bridgelux. But also 90 leds seems like it will be a lot for the footprint of a standard 90g. My tank has a larger foot print(extra 6in) and I am running 84 and only real reason I did that was because I am running 40deg optics and have the light fairly high. I can't give you an exact recommendation on ammount but I would say closer to 70 leds. The ammount of leds doesn't necessarily let you have higher light corals its more of the optics that let you sustain them and gives you the better penetration. The amount of leds is more for the coverage and footprint of the tank. At least that's what I gathered from my research of leds before I built mine.

I think it would be fine, but going sps dominant I would recommend a 48 dimmable from rapidled

would a single 48 dimmable kit be enough, I know the cree led are better than the bridgelux but I was thinking I would need 2 kits to cover my tank, I really want to avoid the spotlight look so i want plenty of coverage.

Yes. A single 48 dimmable kit from rapidLED will be enough for sps. Check out Evolved's thread.
