I'm moving up from a 75 to a 125 soon and want to go with LED lighting. I am looking at two of the Evergrow IT 2040 from Reef Radiance they come with 90's but I can change to 120 if I want. I will only be using two fictures and was thinking the 120's would give me better coverage, I will only have softies and fish. And what about hieght and distance apart because I'm hanging them from the wall need to be right the first time.

what are the dimensions of the tank?

Well they come with wire hangers which you can adjust the height by pulling the wire.

What I did with mine was hang it to 9 inches above tank but raised it 2" by pulling on wire.

Also remember that you can use the programing so you gradually build up the brightness.

I would probably say go 120 for coverage but pretty sure there are a couple others in here who have them but can't remember their tank size and my wife's is only a 30 so don't have coverage issue.

Although I really want to know what you end up doing because I have my 135 in cycle and will need new lights for that at some point.

72" long and I think 18x21 or very close to that.

That is a good advise Chris. I will play with the dimmer controls on the IT2040 and adjusted weekly after the initial set up. Also if you go with the 90, it will give you better penetration, but less area coverage. If you choose the IT2040 with the 90 degree lenses, then I will suggest you to go with Three, instead of two lamps.
This is my $0.1 cent contribution, and please let us know hoe does it looks after the set up!
    Thank you!

Can only do two now so thats why I was thinking to go with the 120's for coverage could add a 90 in the middle some day.

check out todd sails 125 thread. he does not have the it2040 but the dimmable non controller version. he has three lights on his but was running it with 2 at 1 point from what I remember

pretty sure his were 90 degree but read through thread may figure it out. also believe page 17 had full tank and last page me and him were discussing his light height etc.
