I have 2 koralia 750gph PH's in my 75 gallon they are on the sides now facing in and kind of up towards the top. Does this sound like the right size and position of my tank?

(i know i need more live rock but there is 50lbs curing, I just trans everything from my 55 gallon hex to this tank)

i would put the left on a little over to the right and make it tilt it down a little bit. and then tilt the right one just one a little.

The amount of flow you need will depend on what you want to keep. Will this be a reef tank? Right now you have about 20X turnover in the display tank.

You have 20 x tank volume in turnover Leighton and thats not a bad place to start IMO

You may need to increase depending on what corals you decide to keep

I agree with Dellyjoe, in that getting that surface rippling is a good idea

I would turn the PH so the cord is on top and point them toward the surface. You may need to add more to the tank to remove dead spots when you add more rock and depending on the coral you decide to keep.

I have 2 1050's on my 75g tank, a nano and about 270gph from my return. That is about 2600gph total. That is 35 turns nominal and 43 turns net.

The 1050's are aimed parallel to each other to increase turbulent random flow.

Thanks for the help ill can the direction of how they flow so 2 more might be a good idea? Also when I get the rock cured I would like to start out with easy to care for coral like brain coral, mushrooms and any other suggested corals? Can I add multi corals at once?

corals in general add very little to the bioload, so you can add a few small ones (frags)
or a couple of larger pieces each week

I would advise taking it slowly though, because adding a shroom colony or 2, or a zoanthid colony or 2 and then leaving it for a couple of weeks before introducing more
will give you the chance to monitor those additions reactions before spending more money on corals and then finding a problem

Having two more would be a good idea even if you don't use them. I have 2 750's as spares. I tried to use them along with the rest on mine and couldn't find a position to keep from getting sand storms. I use sugar size aragonite BTW.

Good corals to start with, also add zoas, candy cane and acans to the list. Plate corals are fairly easy also. You can add multiple corals no problem.

I also use sugar size aragonite mixed with black and white live sand so no sand storms so far but ill put to more in there to ensure no dead spots then keep one for a spare thanks for all the good info.
