I just put a small 6-line in my tank. Within 3 minutes it started nipping at my xenia?!?!?! I have never heard of 6-lines eating/nipping at coral. Will this be a normal thing?

Also, kind of funny but one of my true perculas started nipping at the tail of the 6-line and chasing it around a bit....my blue tang immediately started guarding the 6-line and keeping itself between the percula and 6-line. funny stuff....

I've never had a 6-line do this but there's always variations. I have seen them nip at a pod on a coral and the coral reacted but it wasn't nipping at the coral on purpose.

When I first put in my 6-line it also began to nip at my birdsnest, but it stopped after the first few days and have not noticed it since. Good luck.

I second this statement, Try putting some pods( Most LFS sell a small pouch that has live baby pods, around $15.00) in the DT so he has his real food to nip at and not your corals. Luna

My tank/sump have PLENTY of pods! As soon as the lights go out, they come up in huge numbers!

The six line is acting more like a normal six line now. Jetting around the rock picking at stuff. The other fish dont seem too sure about him yet though, and he is MUCH smaller then anything else in the tank so hes getting bullied a bit. Im sure things will calm down after a day or two...
