No because a 90gal tank is only 48" long. Plus 150w HQI from what i read won't penetrate well to the bottom. From what people have told me (i wasted my money because that much money is expensive for lighting in the first place, and you can't upgrade it). If you are somewhat handy, i would do a retrofit, buy the ballast, bulbs, reflectors separate and mount them in a custom hood and you will save hundreds.

Yeah, I have spent mucho money just upgrading. I would just wait it out, research KNOW what you want and save up. It is hard when you are as impatient as I am.

I kinda had to upgrade. I had been looking into lighting for some time and eventually bought that Marineland lighting. All it said on the net was that it was a 48" fixture but it didn't say that it was too wide for a 55 so my wife let me buy a 75gal tank off of craigslist. Well I got the tank and had to build a stand, then plumb everything, get more LR and LS and get a new skimmer. All in all, I spent $1500 because I didn't want to build a canopy and a retrofit kit. Don't get me wrong, I am in love with my new setup, I just didn't research and completely prepare myself for what I was getting into.
