I'm in the same boat. I have my Apex and all my strips crammed in my stand. If anything like that happens, I'll be toast.

Glad you were able to get everything back up and running with a minimum of wet towels. In hind sight, it's probably a good thing you lost the strips. Could have been a lot more water on the floor if that pump wouldn't have shut off. :)

Agreed. My bad night started when I spilled my power for my calcium test kit. After that, things went down hill. Bad karma for some apprent reason.

Thank you for whomever invented the GFCI. When I come up with some sort of enclosure idea for the power strips, I'll post some pictures. Until then, I am open for suggestions.

Over the weekend, I was able to relocate all of my timer strips. I mounted them where there is very little chance of water getting to them. I feel much better about the location and the reorganization that went with this little weekned project.

    External pump no doubt?

Pros and cons for each type.

For me and mine, I wanted the RP IN the sump, less likely for something like this to happen.

I'm glad all is well, no livestock loss, etc.

The pump was internal. No live stock lost, water parameters seem to check out fine.

OH wow, sorry, then where was the hose clamp?
Are you using hard pipe, or a flex type pipe?
Was it at the top out at the nozzle end, or down in the sump, and just sprayed up out of the sump?

In my sump my Spaflex hose fits right on to the barbed fitting with no clamp at all- it's real tight. No hose clamps underwater on mine.

I'm being selfish here- but I really would like to see a recent FTS of your awesome DT!
