    That star is not "little" - is about 6X the size of the shrimp.

    note: He eventually hauled it all the way to back of tank where his "lair" is & mate.

    Amazingly strong critters (and determined)

    I wonder if the female is gravid because mine always tag teamed the starfish. I love these shrimp! They are determined and powerful when it comes to food! :)

    You must be right. Have not seen female out and about for ages. I know she is there because I can get a peep of her through a small crevice in rock. Either producing youg'uns or moulting is my thought.

    Before you added the starfish, would the male shrimp hang at the entrance of their burrow waving his mits and become aggressive at anything that came too close? If he was, chances are, she is gravid.

    I watched mine very carefully :) She should be gravid for about a week. After they finish their current meal, they will both hide out of site to molt. Once they're done doing that, one or both of them will come out again which means that they're hungry.
