    60x24x24 = 150gal
    60x24x20 = 125gal
    60x20x20 = 100gal

    If you want to calculate your own dimensions for a custom tank, just multiply the LxWxH's inches, then divide by 231.

    For example - For a 60x24x24, multiply 60x24x24 = 34560. Then divide 34560/231 = approx 150gal

    Not sure.. I'm looking to go with what shows the best color, and good for Coral..
    Bsweezy said he had good luck with two 400w mh ..
    I know heat can be a problem with MH, But I can over come that..I have ALOT of research to do ..
    Maybe a MH, T5HO combo..?? I want my colors to pop....

    What you think..

    Thanks, Larry

    Larry, FWIW, the lighting is going to stink on a 5 ft tank. Two MHs won't cut it entirely, and 3 could be too much. Unless you want to go with a 60" T5 setup, but thats a lot more bulbs to change more often, and you are stuck with very few vendors for 5 ft T5/T5HO bulbs making selection less than the 48" crowd.
    Although I'd love to have a 60x24x24, I didn't want the T5s, and a 180 has that extra 1 ft of space under the stand that I don't see how I could ever possibly live without.
    Stick with a 75, 90 or 120 for more choices in lighting. We better see a build thread soon.

    Thanks Bogie,

    I think a 48x24x24 = 120gl ... Will be what I want..
    It'll be 48" .. So lights want be as hard to come by..
    It'll look better in the room.. And be plenty big enough..

    Now I've got to get the money together.. Guess it'll be a while befor I buy anymore corals.. LOL

    Thanks Budd, Larry

    Odd sized tanks can be a problem with lighting as manufacturers stay in the 24", 36", 48" and 72" there are some manufacturers that make 60" lightfixtures but most of the finer bulb manufacturers don't carry that size. Do your homework well.
