Can you guys recommend a good skimmer for mixed reef 40 gal. tank? That tank will be in my bedroom so noise is a factor. So good and quiet..;) Thanks.

If you are going to run a sump check out SCAquariums I do not have any experience with HOB skimmers, but I hear CPR has some really nice ones I like their Combo skimmer/refuge.

I run a reef octopus nw-110 on my 40g breeder. Works great!

I have always been recommended Reef Octopus. Not saying there are not other really good ones out there. Make sure they have a tall reaction chamber.

Is the tank built? If you can so a sump, you should.. Need to decide that before your skimmer. Size of your sump will also play a factor on the size and footprint of your skimmer.
