Oh I see that now. I knew karma wasn't a reef forum, I was making a joke.

    But that explains it!

on a serious note I havent really ever ventured past 3reef (except for the rare occasion). I have always sought most of my info thru 3reef or my trusted lfs.

Even if it takes venturing off to another site for some info I have portrayed it thru some of my post here on 3reef.

Also I could have gone to many of other site for info but I opted to keep in the 3reef community by starting a new thread here to see what 3reef members have to say. So I truly like 3reef.

I dont have anything negative to say about any other forum site. Main thing is there are resources of reef knowledge. And why bash something when they contain other reefers with the same experience or different that can give you some good knowledge in this hobby.

postive opinions - but since joining 3 reef, I dont visit other reef forums, unless Im investigating something for someone on here with a question I cant answer without research

RC - I once had a chat with Anthony Calfo when he was moderating the coral forum - we talked about fragging elephant ears ( the coral, not real elephants ears) what a fine Gent he was - he replied ": if this where my coral this is what I would do" which is an example I have tried to follow in the years since, whenever I post a responce - I dont tell people what they should do, I tell them what I would do if I where in same position

3 reef - well this place rocks IMO , you get a load of people with great experience and very limited arrogance in the replies (yes there are exceptions, but there are always exceptions)
but in the main, there are very few bashing type threads on here (thankfully) and thus its a nice place for newcomers who will make mistakes to come along and discuss things and get quality advice

I love them both. .. but I prefer the layout and camaraderie here.
The RC magazine reefkeeping is top notch and Randy chimes in often on RC which is cool cuz you know that is rock solid advice.

I started on rc and am still a member there but don't go there any more unless 3reef is down for some reason, i feel its much more family friendly and see fewer negative posts here.

I spend more time on 3reef, but my local reef club is VERY active on RC so I am there as well. I don't post near as much there.

Finding info on 3reef is easy breezy. The forums, tools, threads are intuitive here and the side bar menu is nice. I like RC and RK is awesome as hell, but good luck narrowing searches down to a usable amount on RC.

And the animated 3reef gif top left is sweet......

Everyboard has pros and cons.... RC is the most well known Reef forum in the world so that brings lots of people, thousands a day... I have never been on it when there wasnt' at least 2000 members or guests on. BUT that also brings the good and the bad, you get very smart guys but you also get pompous guys. BUT arrogance, stupidity and unfriendliness don't only happen there. The RK mag is great BUT 3reef has new product spotlights constantly, prizes and interesting articles(thanks MATT!)
I love 3reef, thats why I have more posts here than just about everyboard combined, well maybe not but you get the point. Only downside I can see at the moment about our fair site is that the traffic is mostly guests. I will see 20 registered members and 180 guests... COME ON PEOPLE SIGN UP AND JOIN THE FUN! :)
