    Hello People,
    I came across this sight a few days ago and I was quite impressed with the amount of information that is available here and what seems to be quite a nice group of fellow aquarists.
    I had my first fresh water aquarium back in 1968 and my first salt water
    aquarium in the early 80's (150 gallon fish only) with a stint in the 90's for seven years with a 55 gallon FOWLR tank. I have a fairly solid understanding of what it takes to maintain a reef tank and I am planning a new tank in a few months when I move into digs.
    I am still determining tank size (either 4' 75 gallon or 6' 120 gallon) which will let me know how much live rock, lighting , filter and other necessary gizmos will be needed. I am a big fan of Martin Moe but if any of you folks could reccomend any authors that I should get myself up to date with it would be much appreciated.
    I plan to start with live rock and slowly add stock over several months so I would have a properly matured tank. Probably one of my only concerns is room temperature/tank temperature. How are your results in the 78 degree range? For a home RO water system what would you folks reccomend?
    I have plenty of questions for the future so I will let you go for now and have a Great Day!!

    Hey David, nice to have you here! looks like you have a pretty extensive history which is a good thing!
    If i may put in my .02 go with the 120 gallon, you will be happier and so will your fish ;)
    78 degrees is a perfect temperature to keep the tank and one of our sponsors, Spectrapure, has some killer deals on ro/di systems

    For those of you joining us that are new to the hobby - the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan

    And for those experianced hobbyists joining us - it's still good advice :p

    Welcome Aboard...

    :D 6' 120g sounds like a good size to me! :) Granted a higher price for everything... but more the reward in the long run!

    actually I would consider going with a 180, the extra depth will make aquascaping much easier.
    180 = 72 x 24 x 24
