would 2 4 watt LEDs be okay for a 30 gallon cube aquarium, to keep easier to care for corals?

in addition to having a sand bed, and rock, what filter is better, a hang on back filter with the carbon, or a canister filter?

I personally don't think 2 4watt LEDs will keep corals, you want to look into something a little more powerful (RapidLED). Also you might want to stay away from the canister filter, from what I understand they become nitrate traps down the road.

You might want to look into a Hang on back refugium for better filtration.

Maybe someone that knows more about filtration will chime in.

The light might work, but I am not sure at all. A canister filter would be better for carbon usage. HOB tend to bypass the carbon too easily. You will want to clean the canister often though and thoroughly.
