So I have finally started to work on this after all the procrastinating that I have done! I bought the tank stand nova extreme T5 2 bulb light and reef octopus hob skimmer for a grand total of (drum roll)......... 150$. I have yet to decide if I want to build a sump for the system or not though, it will be in our bedroom and right next to my bed (I have a sleep disorder and need constant light/sound throughout the night to help me sleep). So I am worried about the annoying humming sound over powering the sound of the water flowing back into the tank. I have also thought about using a hob filter just for the noise and for the activated carbon. I will be recycling some of the CC from my 55 bc thats what the wife wants lol, a chunk of live rock from the same tank and about 35 lbs of dry base rock. Well I feel that is enough now I will post Pics of what I bought tom at some point, and feel free to give me any advice I am more than happy to take it!!!

I def will I am in the process of running around town right now but pics will be up soon! I have a few questions though, what type of circulation should I have in the tank since its going to be a FOWLR? Would I be fine with 2 hydor nanos? Will I still see a cycle since I am using CC from my 55 and about 10lbs of LR from the same tank?

what type of nanos are they. When I had a 30 gallon long I used the Koralia nanos but they were the 425GPH ones. For fish only i think you should be fine just aim them up so you get surface agitation.

But I just placed my order for 40lbs of base rock and a couple little odds and ends today so hopefully they will be here within the next week!

This tank I am setting up for my wife so she wants colorful and "cute" fish, but I was thinking orchid dottyback, royal gramma, clown goby, firefish, or cardinalfish. But def not all of them in the same tank lol I will have her narrow down the list of what she wants to 2-3 total.

Are you going to scrap and clean the tank wall's. The scape looks good lots of swimming room is important for fish only.;)
