My water level in my biocube seems very high and even overflows back over shelf to the chamber area. Is this normal? In the chamber areas the first chamber is full to the top, the 2nd chamber has a skimmer and about half full and the third chamber is about half full. Seems like the pump is pushing water faster than the intake can bring water into the chamber system.

    Thanks.

I have a biocube 29 as well and if you think you are having a problem with the intake flow then there is a tab on the divider between the first and second chambers that you can remove. You actually have to cut it out with a utility knife though. It will double the amount of water that is let through. Is the water overflowing back into all three chambers or just the first two?

Just the two (2 & 3). I have the carbon filter in now, do you use that?

For now I am using the carbon filter. I'm debating about just getting rid of it all together though. I ordered some filter bags and some different filter media coming. I think when that comes in, I'm going to see how things run without the carbon and if need be, I can always put one back in. The choice is up to you as to whether or not you want carbon.

Oh, as far as it overflowing into the two chambers, it's supposed to do that. The middle chamber has overflow slits at the top of it to help with that. You need it to overflow into the middle chamber otherwise I think the pump would be too powerful and put out more water than it is able to take in.
