Not only am I setting up a 55 gal mixed reef, but I also have a new project.
I went to town to find a job, I didn’t find one, so to cheer me up I went to petsmart, and a local fish store. I got a big piece of star polyps, crown tail betta, and a 2.5 gal. Glass tank.
I set up the tank with used saltwater, dry base rock, a little diy rock, and dry sand. I put in some cheato, add 2 mangroves to help remove some of the waste. I know I will have to go thru a small cycle.

    This is my stocking list.
1 royal gramma (because they seem to stay in there own cave)
    1 emerald crab
    2 or 3 hermit crabs
    1 peppermint shrimp
    And a few corals.

Should be ok but I would get a clown goby or some sexy shrimp for that size of a tank because they wont outgrow it and are not nearly as active as a damsel as far as swimming space requirements
