My yellow tang either has a nutritional deficiency or an internal parasite. He hasn't been eating for the last few weeks. Has never eaten noir, just mysis and spirulina flakes. He still picks at the food, but spits it out.

He has lost a ton of weight. I expect hIM to die when IM out of town this week.

This tank is driving me nuts. My skimmer turned out to be way oversized for the pump. It skimmed a little, but unfortunately, not enough. Hair algae is everywhere and 3-4 inches long. I bought the proper skimmer body, so that should correct the skimming issue.

Throughout that inefficient skimming period, phosphate crept to 0.4 ppm. I added a little GFO and by Wednesday, based on uptake rate, my phosphate should be at 0.03. I will remove the GFO upon reaching that level and install my ATS system.

On another note, Now I have another bacterial bloom.

I can't believe the amount of phosphate that is creeping out from wherever the heck it is creeping from.

I'm still sitting at 0.14 ppm after using about 1 gallon of GFO over the last month.

You wouldn't believe the algae I harvest from the tank.
