I had a laugh at this one. lol.

 

I dunno..he wouldn't ever do it on purpose. He's actually being super weird today he went to the dentist office and they had a 400 gal reef and he was trying to describe tangs to me hahaha and said he wanted me to have one. I was like,..... what? lol I was like yeaaa get me a 120 and I will buy you one haha then he said second he wanted to pick out an anthia.. I was like hmmm yea give me 50 bucks I'll get some. I think he realized that he kinda hurt my feelings that he did'nt care about my hobby at all when he cut up the siphon... so he's trying as of today he wants a blue damsel too I was like there is no way a damsel fish is going into my reef.

 

I would take this opportunity to maybe bring your dad into the hobby a little bit by actually letting him pick something out. I know you can't get a tang or a damsel but there is bound to be something at the LFS you two can pick out together. Just a thought.

 

Yup...now's your chance! Maybe he will end up with his own tank one day? : Who knows?

 

Grab this bull by the horns and STEER YOUR DAD IN THE PATH OF DARKNESS LET THE REEFER FLOW THROUGH YOU!... erm I mean yes take him to your LFS and talk about what's good and what wont work in your tank if he shows interest in even freshwater fish if their easy enough maybe you could bring him to the dark side! He might be feeling guilty but he also might be trying to form a bonding connection take this time to enjoy it while you can... alas parents don't live forever and if you share common ground it's an opportunity to allow a relationship to flourish which in the long run is a good thing. (ich martha stuwart moment.)

 

Yea I actually am going to keep my bio cube I might get a few damsels in there with a chocolate chip starfish or something, as a fish only tank. If he wants he can buy me an anthia

haha we will see... he really did like the anthias. maybe he will end up buying my love with a 120 reef and a few tangs. LOL j/k thats horrible I love both my parents they just don't fully understand the hobby sometimes which is okay they still let me live in there house AND I suppose they put up with my reefing addiction. Maybe they are just glad its not a drug addiction lol

 

Maybe not lol Though drugs are destructive to ones self and others around you. Reef keeping has that impulse buy option and the OHH I WANT BIGGER AND BETTER =P

haha agreed I already have a plan.. I just emptied out the bio cube im going to give it a super good cleaning and then... I might get him a damsel.. HAAAAA maybe he will let me put it out in the living room lol
