so i hit the one month on my tank last weekend and noticed my tank water is really cloudy, i came home today and noticed my glass and stuff was full of algae, was the water cloudy because of a bloom? did anything cause the bloom? i told my fish guy about it and he told me i could never get rid of cloudy water with out a sterilizer...

    i do a 10% water change once a week

Actually there are many different ways to keep your water crystal clear without a uv sterilizer. I just use a 200 micron filter sock and my skimmer. I also run carbon. You most likely did have some sort of algae bloom. What are your water parameters?
SG, PH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alk (dkh) and what kind of filtration are you currently using?

Did you do water changes throughout your tanks cycle?

    nitrate,amm,phos,nitrite- 0
    cal- 460
    alk- 10
    ph - 8.4
    sg- 1.025

and for filtration i have a 30 gallon sump with reef octopus 110 skimmer and i use pura filtration pads with a fuge with chaeto and 5 mangroves.

You're pH is a bit high IMO... But that doesn't explain the bloom. Consider a 20% water change, and see if LFS will give you some of their cycled water to replace it as opposed to running tap.
