I love all of the corals but you do have a tang in a 29 gal, a lot of people on here will probably get on to you about that.

Is the flow in that area decreased as compared to the rest of the tank? Increasing the flow there will help to deter any future growth.

Definitely put the camera on a tripod, all tank lights on, a lamp angled at the tank at such a point where it doesn't reflect back at you works too....
I agree, just leave it alone. If it's not happy, then it will move to a better place that it likes.
