    You mean the base of the collection cup is setting 2cm deep in the water? If so,can you cut/dremel out the hood for the skimmer to be raised?

    No,i would keep the airpump turned up where it was and raise the skimmer itself higher.It may take several adjustments.Those airstone driven skimmers...
