    personally- IMHO, on a tank of your size I would only run a canister filter and maintain it monthly. Perhaps a few small power heads and a wave timer...

    test strips are great for quick testing but are not all that accurate all the time. many things can effect their readings- even the air quality.

    acrylic is typically "chemically bonded" or "welded" together. were it me and this option wasnt available- I would use aquarium silicone.
