    Stupid Diatoms!

    I agree I have a new tank and it's got the cycle brown going but the coral banded shrimp and lawnmower blenny seem to be helping to get rid of it.

    I suggest getting a nice submersible powerhead ,if you have one on each side of the tank creating a current that should be good enough

    They really should only sell these critters in pairs,it would make things a lot easier,usually if they pair it's done more sooner 1-3 days than later.

    Glass or acrylic

    Glass is alot cheaper than acrylic but then acrylic I think is stronger if you have a bump and is not likely to crack as easy,I always go with glass...
