Yellow tint still

Its a Pro Clear Aquatic Systems skimmer. Its been running for about 12 hrs. I turn it off at night and turn it on b4 I go to work. I wasnt originally running it since I'm cycling my tank but that yellow tint has now gotten to me so its my mission to get rid of it.

 

A skimmer will take anywhere from 2-4 days of CONTINUOUS running to break in and run properly....
Why are you turning it off?

 

The whole system is used. I got it from a guy that had a LFS put it together for him and custom make a few things. He was a local business owner that went out of business due to the economy and was forced to sell it. Got a pretty good deal though he already sold off all his rock and fish. He had it for little less than a year before I bought it. I have the tank in my room which is why I turn the skimmer off at night. The rest of the "operation" is very quiet except for the skimmer which is why I've been turning it off.
