I know they are a touchy subject but my little frag has been very odd. Most of the time when i hear about xenia its either doing great or already dead.

Mine has been in my tank for about 4 weeks now. When I was aclimating it, it was still pulsing, as soon as it hit my tank, it shriveled up. It was like that for about a week then slowly started extending little by little everyday. Now it is for the most part extended but the palms are fisted up and will not open. I have tried moving it an inch at a time up towards the light starting from just under midway(55 gal tank, dual t5 54 watt, dual daylight 10000k 54 watt).

The coral is still alive so I am just wondering if it is going to be fine or if I need to do something with it placement wise.

Mine had its fists closed for awhile too until I found a spot for it that it really liked. They do love light and mine enjoys being in high flow. Once mine got happy, it's grown and spread like crazy - your's will get there!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
In my experience xenia likes the higher end of nomral for pH like 8.4. My xenia always dies back if I run carbon and a skimmer all the time. It does much better with some nitrates in the water.
