OK.....I was staring at my tank just a few minutes ago....really spacing out on a piece of live rock when I noticed a very, very small xenia growing. I mean small.

Now, I could probably look this up, but since I have just realized this in the midst of typing, I'll continue just for the sake of starting a thread.

Besides fraging, how do these things propogate themselves. Do they seed, so to speak? Or do they just spread directly from a source, like another tree growing from a root? Or both?

    TIA.......John.

Mine has both buds that come out of the base and it divides itself. I don't think theres a way to keep them from multiplying. I thought mine was dying a few weeks ago and now 1 little "tree" is about to be 4 plus it had about a doxen buds. Keep your dKH up and you'll be surprised how fast it'll grow.

I just increased my dKH from 10 to 11 about a week ago. The "dead" Xenia I thought I had lost is starting to make a very slow comeback.
