Well it put quite a scare in me. Makes me worry about anyone not on gfci because we all say that it will never happen to us but right here is an example of how it does happen to anyone! I'm just so relieved that it tripped.

One hand In the water and the other hand plugging stuff in. Anyone who has put vortechs on a tank is probably guilty of this as you have to adjust the wet side right away to get it centered!

 

Yeah tell me about it. Put a new hob skimmer on the other day went to work. Then i get a call at night at work telling my elec strip was wet and burning. I live in a old house with no gfci plugs..im not and electrican so im not sure about wiring gfci up on this old house?

 

You can purchase gfi power srtrips at Home Depot. Better than nothing
