WHY damsels ???!

just cycle with live rock. And just cause they can adapt don't mean they are happy. Also what doesn't kill don't allways make you sronger my mother in law has cancer and it hasn't killed her but sure as hell didn't make her stronger. I say don't be so impatient cause you can have fish later and if you cycle with live rock you just have to look at an empty tank. Also if you say they don't suffer how about all the inexperienced people that end up loosing fish cause there cycle gets to far out of hand or they decided to get other fish and the damsel attacks them. The damsel always gets the short end of the stick in that aspect. Just read all the threads of people trying to get there damsels out . The whole point is that why get a fish when other ways do just the same. Also one fish in a 100 gal + system don't help that much.

 

10acre....I agree. It comes down to people need to know that there are other ways to cycle and that the cheap damsel fish has the possibliity to cause more headaches when you decide to go with a peaceful tank and then have to catch that little turd. For some it may work well, but for some it's a risk they may not be aware of.
