Which Sand

ok. im building a 180 gallon tank and im going to order my sand on monday of next week. which should I get? im looking at the Ocean Direct from Caribsea. do I get the origional with 77% oolite and some larger pieces mixed in? or go with the pure oolite?

the tank will be SPS dominated with about 25x total turnover. flow is provided by 4 sump returns and two closed loop outlets.

i personaly like the sand that is a little larger it looks alot more natural looking but thats jmo

 

Idk, but to me, that pure oolite looks really fine grained.

 

Original grade for me. 36x total turnover in my tank and the sand doesn't blow around. I think Pure Oolite could end up being a sandstorm.

 

i like the original grade. it looks more natural with the pieces. also if you add jaw fish to your tank they like to hunt and use the small pieces to build their homes
