    the PH in my tank was high, so i read that you can put selterz water in to lower the PH. i put one bottle of selter water (ingredients carbonated , water) and the two domoin i had it the tank want belly up :eek::eek:,so i rush them out of the main and put them in the sump(it not hookup to my main yet) can someone tell me what happing :confused:

    Like Luna said! but having high ph is better than low, how high was it?

    PH was 8.6

    8.6 is pretty high but is not bad, you r in good shape between 7.8 and 8.5
    one decimal higher i don't think it makes much difference

    8.6 is good.as ph means little anyways .. what is the DH level ? And club soda is just CO'2 the stuff we use to run a ca reactor.. it will lower ph as it exhaust the carbonates .. And if you arrived at the 8.6 from a liquid test kit ?? its a guess at best beats me why all worry so much about ph.. Its never stable and a open window to a degree of temp will move it.. as will sun light and fresh air. I used washing soda to keep mine at 9.2 plus for a month to try and burn out the byropsis algae oh the laundry washing soda is just pure sodium carbonate ..
