welding acrylic?

    hi i bought acrylic for my sonn diy sump and was wondering if there anything special i have to do to prepare it for welding. the pieces were cut by tapplastics. do i need to sand them or should they be good to go when i get them from the company?

    I did some recent repair work to my sump, and the glue melted the joining pieces to form the bond. Therefore, unlike other materials where sanding to increase surface area is recommended, I don't see any reason with acrylic. Just make sure the joining areas are very clean by wiping them down with alcohol and allowing it to dry completely.
