I have an old tank that i picked up off a buddy around 6 months ago.
My only problem is that i think they kept a small in the tank.
Could i use the tank as a fish tank if i clean it out with vinegar and water, or is it pretty much garbage?
    Thankss guyss;D

As long as it holds water, the tank should be fine. Vinegar will break loose almost anything stuck to the silicone and glass, so you will be good to go. I'd suggest using straight vinegar though, no dilution with water, as it will clean better that way.

If you are worried about contaminants you could probably do a water/bleach mixture to clean, rinse and dry, then use vinegar to get rid of any bleach residue...
