If all appears to be well in my tanks ( water clarity, green plants, healthy occupants, etc. ) is it necessary to test? If so, are there are particular tests I should be doing or should I test for everything ?

    Thanks.

To be on the safe side I would test for everything the first time around.

I'm really confused. Saltwater or freshwater? How long has your tank been up? What do you have in it? Any other details?
