    the temperature in m tank is 76 degrees. it never changes. ive stayed up all night to watch it and it never falls or rises.i was wondering if 76 is too cold for coral and fish? thanks

    They will be ok but you should try and target a temp of 80 deg. You def must have an issue with your thermometer. What kind of thermometer are you using? My tank fluctuates between 78-81 depending on the time of day and how long the lights have been on. You really want to find the cause of your therm. not showing any change in temp. Have you checked temp with a different thermometer?

    i keep a second cheap thermometer in my sump just to double check the one in my DT.

    Dito...I have a digital food thermometer that I can caliberate in ice water to ensure that my thermometers are both in good working order. A lot of the thermometers have a range of +/- 2 or 3 degrees from what I've experienced. I had a small digital on that was off by 7 degrees. I don't trust tham and always periodically check with my digital thermometer that I know is caliberated.

    Ditto on the temp ...My fish and corals do best at 79 / 80*
