Tattoo Suggestions

Hey guys,

I know how good you guys are with giving advice on aquariums and what not (which is excellent), but i've been considering getting ink done for quite a while. And i thought i would start a thread on here seeking your advice!! I have a few choices to start with, any more ideas will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm a big Rush fan, i was considering the starman that appears on their "2112" album:http://www.niemergs.com/2112Watermark.gif I would probably be getting it in green.

another idea is the p/g symbol that appears on their "grace under pressure" album. I couldn't find a picture of it, but just try to imagine a fancy p over a g. (or a g under a p, henceee grace under pressure!!)

Now, another idea i was thinking was a strand of DNA (double helix). I'm a big bio geek, i thought it would be a pretty cool idea.

Along the lines of science, I thought this one was pretty cool too.

Any ideas for something aquarium related?

at last a post that I have adequate experience to respond to

I have a Red and Gold Koi carp on my left arm, Tat starts just below shoulder and ends at elbow

on right arm I have an equal sized Tat of a Dragon

These 2 above represent my 2 sons and have their names in Chinese characters alongside (Think NBA and you will get it)

check out Tatoo web sites - there are loads of reef tats nowadays, Clowns in nems, corals etc

You might want to pick something small-ish if this is going to be your first tattoo. Not everyone has the pain tolerance levels necessary to get a big piece done.

I only have one fish related tattoo (yin yang fish on the small of my back). This was done long before the terms "bullseye" and "tramp stamp" ever came to be. : Stoopid twenty-something generation ruins everything I have two tribal pieces, one Chinese symbol and an old stupid one that doesn't even warrant describing that I had done when I was 18.

 

Maybe, instead of a Rush tattoo, you could just have "I am a fan of bad music" tattooed on your forehead!
I like the helix idea. Or maybe even go for a specific sequence that you like/are fascinated with, that would really have people scratching their heads. I like the aquarium idea/theme. That is one I thought about myself, I just couldn't come up with something I didn't think was overly "girly".

Get what ever you want! as long as you can live with it...dont worry about what people think. For example i have tats of sgourney weaver, the alien, danny glover, the predator, dark helmet and barf [characters from spaceballs, rick moranis and john candy]

 

I would suggest that if you want something and you have been wanting that specific tattoo for a while, and its something that you know you will not stop liking years down the road, then get it. If not that, then pick something, wait a while and see if you still like it and haven't had any doubts about it, then get it. If you decide later that you don't want it, the laser removal costs a lot more than the actual tattoo and is more painful. Plus they usually require several different sessions of getting laser removal and you have to wait a month or two between each session for it to completely heal before the next one. I like the Rush tattoo I think that's a cool idea. The think one is cute lol. I have seen somewhere online that someone got a pretty cool tattoo of a blue ring octopus. I have seen some really cool "tramp stamp" tattoos but that whole fad ruins the point of getting anything cool there anymore, doesn't matter what it is people first think "tramp stamp" when they see something there instead of looking at the actual artwork.
