Tank Cyclers

Do firefish make good tank cyclers along with my CUC? I want to cycle it with 3-5 firefish if I can.

 

not really. they are not that hardy.

 

It is what I started with, three firefish. They killed each other off until I just had one. I still have the one a year later and a few other types of gobies. I find that gobies tend to do well singly or mated pairs, but you can mix different species without problems.

 

i'd say no. kind of a sensitive fish

 

I think they are too sensitive to cycle with.

I think the best cyclers are damsels, including clowns, or no fish at all.

 

IMO the best fish to cycle a tank with is a dead raw deli shrimp.

 

i dont see the need for fish either. its going to cycle with or without them
