Well,I went to turn my lights on today only to find my fish floating and the water was very cloudy.I lifted the lid and it just smelled rotten,i checked my thermometer and it was 96 deg. I pulled the heater,it was still hot,I also thought i had a tetra or marineland glass heater in there, but when i pulled it out,i forgot it was a stealth 50 watt heater .Nothing survived.:(

So anyway,i'd been fighting a good fight with bryopsis and gha issues,so i think i'm gonna take a break and just run it as fw for a while. When things settle down some around here,i'll have everything i need to get it going again. But looking on the bright side,I no longer have algae problems :cheesy:

    terrible news Grinder37

I would have assumed nothing at all survived at that temperature

at temps above 95 even bacteria start dieing off so I have read

    sorry to read about this
    a very frustrating experience

    Thanks Steve

When I pulled everything earlier, most corals was just mush,so it's pretty safe to say nothing lived.I'm not very happy, still kinda in awe about it.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Sucks, you can do everything right and then loose everything do to a stupid piece of equipment

Good luck with the fw. Hope we'll see you back with reefs someday :)

Hey there...don't worry about this. I have some good news.

....I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.
