t5 bulb experts...

    I have 2 supplemental t5's for my halide, although they are crappy bulbs. I just got a new coral that is yellow but I want it to pop more!
    I know geissman and UVL are great bulbs but I dont know which two to pick. I would like to retain high PAR, while also getting a good amount of actinic wavelength (they should peak at 501nm for the green tint and 552-583nm to excite the yellow)

    the bulbs do not both have to be the same.
    also where is a good place to buy online?

    Have you looked into a figi purple at all?

    Maybe a giessemann pure actinic and a figi purple. Those figi bulbs have very poor PAR, but man can they get your corals to pop!

    I would consider 3reef user dr fragenstein a t5 expert.

    +1 on that, but the good Doc has been busy recently with a shop move

    Geisseman lamps
    The power chrome is actinic plus 22k and that pops greens and reds in my set up

    KZ makes them but they have a low par. I would try the ATI blue+ (20k bulb w/ about 370 PAR) or Geisemann actinic plus (only about 160 PAR).

    right now i am thinking of going with a geissman aquablue plus and a uvl super actinic... it would be great if dr. frag would make a comeback right now tho lolll
