I have found it to be slow growing in my tank which is SPS dominant. It may do better in a tank with a little more available nutrients. It seems to do well in medium light and medium flow.

It's beautiful under actinics. It seems easy to grow, and would most likely be a good coral to place around smaller rocks so you can easily make frags. It doesn't grow on a mat like star polyps.

I started with a small colony and have actually got about six currently. It seems to grow fairly quickly in my lps tank.

Wow beautiful colonies vinny. I have a sympodium frag myself. Its a great coral IMO. I love the color. Doesn't grow as quick as star polyps or anything, but grows pretty steady.

I bought a small frag off ebay, and it is SMALL. Definitely was a little deceived by the picture but thats what ebay does something. Description said 1" and the picture showed it on a plug. Unfortunately the plug was dime size. Mine is really slow growing but I think thats due to the frag size. I definitely have an additional and larger frag on the things to do list. Looks really great once they start taking off. Unless you are shopping locally I recommend shopping around as prices really vary on it.

Yes it can take some time to open. Give it a few more days before you panic. The fact that some are open is a good sign.8)
