the only think that separates my DP from my refugium/sump is that stupid center brace!! ahhhhhh!!! i'm scared to temporarily remove it (from the obvious reason). to fit in the fuge. does anyone have the same stand and tried removing the brace before?
i even thought about getting a car jack to support the tank while the brace is removed. that has to be a good idea right?
    any other ideas/ thought?

i actually saw this page before (i think you were the one that referred me to it :D) with the way the stand is built, it is not an option. the only option i see for now is removing the center brace. or one of the side ones. maybe the car jack thing will work. it's only for couple of minutes max.

I actually saw someone build a temporary brace underneath the tank out far enough so you could work and then cut out the center brace once it was supported. Not sure where the link is as it was on another forum i no longer check.

So basically two "L's" were contructed out of 2 x 4's. the width was enough to move the support about 3 feet away from the stand so you have room to work and the height was obviously high enough to support the weight of the tank above. One on each third of the length of the tank should suffice. then you can cut the center brace out temporarily.
