I've got this idea for quick water changes for my 3 gallon pico. I need opinions if this will be a good one or not.

I have a spare 10g tank which I plan to fill with freshly mixed saltwater. It would run with a power head for flow and aeration. and every week I'd take water from it for a quick water change. Is that water gonna be completely good as long as there are no fish to poo in?

Should be fine but the salinity will creep up due to evaporation.

If you keep a lid on it, you should be fine.

A friend of mine keeps a 55g plastic drum of made up SW on hand for water changes, either expected or unexpected. He has had no issues doing it this way.

I would find some kind of top to put on it to keep anything from getting in the water and wouldn't even run the powerhead or airstone till maybe the night before a wc, maybe a heater in there to keep the right temp.I know alot of people who make up their water ahead of time and just check salinity and ph and temp(if your room temp is just right no need for a heater) and do the wc with no problems.
