I have a 200 watt heater in my 46 gallon and lately since the weather has got colder in Pennsylvania my tank is staying around 76-77. I have it set to 79-80. The room is set to 70. Would a higher watt heater keep the water more accurate? I have a digital thermometer but I checked it against a glass one and got the same temp.

yes a higher watt heater would keep the water warmer, but you do have enough watts for that size, my advice is increase the water flow near the heater and see if there is a difference.

edit also the stealth have a disclaimer that they may be up to 1 degree of, but your 2 or 3.
