I just brought home a button polyp coral from the LFS today and was very excited. Once I got it in the tank, I was disposing of the bag and paper towel that it was wrapped in. On the paper towel I noticed a very small starfish. It has a brownish body and 5 very thin yellowish legs coming from it. I tried to get pics of it, but its about 2 cms total (including legs) and can not get a focused pic to save the life of me. My first impulse is to just dispose of the little guy, but I am hoping this might be a good hitchhiker. Anyone have any idea of a starfish matching that description?

I just checked out what an asterina looks like... I do not see any resemblance. My starfish's legs are skinnier and looks closer to a brittle star almost.

    Awesome link, just bookmarked it.

It looks like I have a mini brittle star. I went ahead and threw that bad boy in there. I am super excited about my new coral, I will try to get pics of it up soon.
