Got 1 a few days ago. Wanted to tell everybody it's AWESOME.
And kind to everything. Did research and talked to my LFS and if you offer them food weekly, they wont hurt your other animals.
I have hermits, banded coral shrimp, 2 clowns, bulb anenome, and a diamond goby. infact, my goby and eel share the same den!!

more power to ya nemo, probably couldn't afford to keep a tank without your mom helping out, I know I can't and i'm almost 21! (I can't keep a job while taking classes). Well, she helped with the setup anyway. If i want to buy something else i usually end up eating ramen for a week.

The eel looks great! I love those little guys. I'm curious to see if there will be any casualties

    Shrimp, shrimp, shrimp...

    Loves shrimp.

Wanna see it come out and frantically swim about tank...drop in some freeze dried shrimp (powder up some in palm before throwing in)- eel senses it water and goes nuts...

But since going into tank peppermints disappeared and camelbacks (OK by me) are gone.

I witnessed it grabbing a newly introduced Camelback. Big Shrimp, Little eel???. :-/ (was not feeding what it wanted initially, probably reason why :-[)

Will not bother my cleaners (blood & skunk)

Will not harm other fish...but does snap at them. Esp little ones.

Known to crawl out of tanks...needs cover.

    Enjoy!

they are nice fishes. they seldom jump out of the tank unless frightened or your tank is going bad. good luck.

btw they never fed on my lysmata shrimps. all other shrimps and crabs are eaten when found. also never bothered fishes. My eels at least.
