skimmer packed up

hi all can any one tell me i have a redsea peizm skimmer i need to know how the hell do you prime them as it was second hand and i cant seem to keep it working i know its not the best on the market so if i cant get it to work what other skimmer can i buy for around 150 pounds as im in uk thanks

 

Take the skimmer cup off the top.
Fill the entire skimmer up with water.
Replace the skimmer cup.
Open the gate valve all the way.
Either put the airline hosing on the other nipple or squeeze it until you start seeing trying to prime itself. It will make chh chh chh noise for a bit but you'll be able to see the water trying to rise up the tube.
Once, it's primed, it will be a steady movement of water through the tube.
Move the hose to the nipple with the hole or if you were using the squeezing method, let go.
Now, you'll have to turn the gate valve to control waterflow.
