I'm looking for some powerheads for a 48x24x12 frag tank. I like Vortech, but probably not for this tank, with the 12" depth, if I went with an MP 40, I'd need it on the bottom and it would probably still suck in air. I was debating whether to go with just Hydors, but have also been looking at the Sicce Wave Surfer system, but don't know much about them though, but they look pretty cool. Any thoughts?

You could dial down the mp40 and place the solid section facing up so it doesn't suck air.

I'll be straightforward: you can't replicate a vortech with anything else on the market right now.

Well, sicce not seio. The Sicce's are supposed to be ultra quite. I agree the vortech kicks butt. I think it is pricy for this though and I can't see the wide flow cone working well. I was dabbling with the idea of an MP10 on one end and a koralli EVO 1400 on the other. Seems like it might be a better match. However, still I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has tried the Sicce's. As they seem to be less known, I'm somewhat interested in trying them, at least if they have some decent long term success. Korallis haven't really lasted for me, so, I would like to stay away from them. And I agree they aren't even similar to my MP 40. So, maybe the MP10 and one for some evo for some counter flow would work...
