Money has got me in a knot. So rather than a new reef tank, I will make this tank into the reef.

    Lighting suggestions?

What about flow? Wouldn't 2 koralia 750's be too much?

I think using 2 Koralia nano 425's would be better.

That is a 3ft tank? I'd say two small korialls would do the trick for flow.

I have a custom canopy for that tank with a 175MH and two 65w PC bulbs in it. Damn logistics. I even have some live-rock I would give you.
So, my lighting suggestions are do what I did, it worked well and was cheap. I built the canopy for dirt cheap, retro fitted the lights in and had a mixed reef, SPS and all. Damn RedSea Prism skimmer crashed the whole thing. I ended up with 3 of 20+ corals in there.

Wow, the whole tank crashed? Sorry to here that. :( What's your location? I assume the coast, given it looks like you're in the USCG?

    The tank is 30" L x 12" W x 18" D.

For lights i was thinking of doing a retro fit 4 bulb T5HO. This one actually...
http://www.marineandreef.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RWP01019 Though I don't see how many watts it is? Edit: it has 4x24w bulbs.

I plan to build a custom canopy to match the stand. The stand on the outside will look just like my plans for the 75 would have...white trim with bead-board.

Phosban reactors are for Phosphate media or GFO. If you want somthing for cal, A calcium reactor is is a totally diffrent ball game.

I'm in Sacramento...T5s will do a good job, that is 3.3 watts per gallon. Great for Soft/LPS and good for SPS.

I'd say u don't need a Ca reactor for your 29, just test and dose and use a good buffered salt-New Red Sea Coral Pro, D-D H2Ocean Pro, or Aquavitro. I'd shy away form Reef Crystals or Seachem Reef Salt. Just IMHO.

You people are reading my mind! Where did I post all this? lol.

Do you think I will need or should have a reactor for GFO then? Or skip that too?
I was planning to use IO Reef Crystals? Something about it you don't like?

That will most likely be the light fixture I get then.

There is just much better salt for the same price the Reef Crystals...last time I checked RC had low Mg levels.
