Hey there I just got a scooter blenny for a tank and it's the only fish in the tank, I'm wondering what to feed it.

They're related to mandarins & eat pods.

Only pods? Not sure what I'd ask for if I were going into a store to buy them

You would ask for copepods or pods for short. I have seen tiger pods and bought them to seed my tank. They will multiply on your live rock and in fuge if you have one.

Well, the only ones you can get in a store (and it depends on the store, a lot don't have them) are Tigger Pods. These fish are just like Mandarins and I'm sure you've read a thread or two here about trying to keep those!

I rescued a starving one once years ago, and it ate frozen daphnia, but it died anyway because it was too far gone.

Here's an old thread on them http://www.3reef.com/forums/tropical-fish/scooter-blenny-29957.html.

I have plenty of pods in my tank but my scooter blenny started to get skinny so i figured he wasnt eating enough pods so i have to target feed him mysis and brine shrimp with a turkey baster since my fish and cleaner shrimp eat everything before it hits the floor. Also one of the best frozen foods ive had luck with is Nutramar Ova prawn eggs. he loved thoes and it fattend him up fast but the only downside i had was it brought on alot of algae for me at first.

    BLOODWORMS!!!

I've seen many scooters, and even mandarins, start feeding on bloodworms then move on to other frozen foods. Works every time!

    Same applying to pods?

Hes the only thing iv got and i he has just been eating around on my rock and sand but i wan to get some actual food in there asap before he decides to kick the bucket.
